Elflandia: The Musical Preview
Welcome to Elflandia - the land of Santa's elves - busy making toys and getting ready for Santa's yearly trip round the world to bring presents to all the deserving humans on the planet. But wait! Do human beings really exist? The reports the elves have heard are not very encouraging. Many are grumpy and stressed at holiday time, others are downright sour when they wake up from a nap, and some are just big and loud and hairy! Discover what the elves learn about humans when Santa shows up with a real living sample! The ensuing effort to get Elfie Selfies with as many humans as possible makes for a rousing closing to the musical!
Students in this musical will learn about all aspects of putting together a show, including acting, movement, stage presence, dance, and singing. The semester will end in a fully-staged performance for friends and family!
This class can be paired with Dance Foundations on Mondays 5:00 -5:30 PM. Students enrolled in Elflandia: The Musical can enroll in Dance Foundations for free!

The Ever After Musical – Roles List
Is “Ever After” really as happy as everyone expected? In a hilarious musical parody of daytime TV, host Sally invites several characters on the show to find out what happened after the words “Ever After” were uttered. Cinderella and her ’beauty-impaired’ stepsisters, attempting to reconcile with each other after being estranged for 20 years. Snow White and the Evil Queen, working out their differences. Jiminy Cricket — now an occupational therapist and author of the book “My Life as Your Conscience.” And in-between guests, enjoy ridiculously funny infomercials for fairy tale related products!
Each week, students learn to express themselves creatively through fun theatrical games, develop characters through dance and movement, strengthen vocals, review stage directions, and continue building theatre terminology. Join us for this hysterical fractured fairy tale!

What musical theatre production isn’t made spectacular with the performance of a truly great tap dance number? With this in mind, tap will be taught to our homeschool students with the aim of developing better rhythm, style, and sound, with an emphasis on developing proper tap technique and producing clear tap sounds.
With movement also at the heart of musical theatre dance, jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality, and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Exercises will focus on increased range of motion in the feet and ankles, balance, control, and speed of movement. And while the students are working their bodies, they will be getting exercise and having fun!
If you have any questions about whether this class or another dance class is best for your student, please contact us at classes@getintotheact.org for assistance. -

The Prince and the Pauper Roles List
When Edward Tudor, Prince of Wales, sees poor beggar Tom Canty mistreated by one of his guards, he invites the pauper into the palace for a bite to eat. After conversing about each other’s lives, the prince suggests they exchange clothing for fun.
In Tom’s rags, the prince looks like a “peacock fell in the mud ’n’ froze”, while Tom claims the royal regalia is so heavy it’s “like to break me back.” But the fun and games soon become harsh reality when the prince’s guards mistake Edward for the pauper and throw him into the street, while Tom is ushered in to handle important stately affairs. Wearing each other’s shoes (literally), Edward and Tom discover what life is like “on the other side,” – and it doesn’t take long for each of them to appreciate the life they always knew.
What they each learn about the other’s world will illuminate their lives — and yours — forever. Mark Twain’s classic tale comes to life onstage, freely and masterfully adapted with dynamic female roles, creative staging and a perfect balance of poignant and hilarious moments.
