Old Man Jacob can’t stand the noise in his home! The chair squeaks, the door creaks, and the wind whistles through the window! As if that weren’t bad enough, the faucet drip-drops, the clock tick-tocks, and the whole family is miserable. So Jacob visits a Wise Man for advice, and things get…well…a WHOLE LOT NOISIER!

Easy for young children to learn and perform, with simple songs and lines, preschool and kindergarten students in this classroom-based musical will use this creative script and accompanying songs to enjoy a classic story and learn all about being on stage! The Prinesses’s New Clothes Roles List

A princess shouldn't have to wear fancy new clothes to be accepted or included or important. What's the point of those gaudy gowns anyway? Is it so she can prove she is better than everyone? Or show she is richer? And do we really need royal families too… do we really need kings and queens...

The Princess's New Clothes is a twist on the tale of The Emperor's New Clothes. "What happens when a princess wants to wear too many clothes?"

Students in this play will learn about all aspects of putting together a show, including acting, movement, and stage presence. The semester will end in a fully-staged performance for friends and family!

Twice Upon a Time Roles List

Grandma doesn’t really like fairy tales — she prefers adventure stories about pirates and astronauts.  So when her grandkids ask for fairy tale bedtime stories, Grandma puts some pretty silly twists on them!

“Twice upon a time...”  Grandma begins each goofy retelling of a once-familiar classic.  Cindy-Rella is now an insufferable neat freak not inclined to leave her chores to attend the prince’s barbecue, even if there will be a bouncy castle there.  Grandma seems to have forgotten about the Big Bad Wolf, so her stories pull Big Bad Bear away from his porridge to threaten both the Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Pants.  Even Goldilocks is confused why she has cameo appearances in both these stories! 

Despite the children’s occasional protests at Grandma’s absurd revisions, they beg for more.  She forges on to tell the tales of Snow White and the Four Dwarves (because four is plenty, thank you!), and Grumplegrapeskin, the magical goblin who wants nothing more than to have the game show host remember his name.

What musical theatre production isn’t made spectacular with the performance of a truly great tap dance number? With this in mind, tap will be taught to our homeschool students with the aim of developing better rhythm, style, and sound, with an emphasis on developing proper tap technique and producing clear tap sounds.

With movement also at the heart of musical theatre dance, jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality, and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Exercises will focus on increased range of motion in the feet and ankles, balance, control, and speed of movement. And while the students are working their bodies, they will be getting exercise and having fun!

With movement at the heart of musical theatre, this beginning dance class will focus on younger students and the foundations of proper dance technique such as basic steps, isolations of the body, flexibility, and developing recognition of simple rhythms and patterns. Exercises will focus on building coordination, stretching, and speed of movement and an emphasis will be placed on learning dance vocabulary, all while getting exercise and having fun!

Dance Foundations can be purchased as a stand-alone class. For students enrolled in The Surprising Story of the Three Little Pigs, The Princess’s New Clothes, and Bremen Town Jam, Dance Foundations is free.

The Surprising Story of the Three Little Pigs Roles

Three classic fairy tales (The Three Little Pigs, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears) begin in their usual "once upon a time" fashion. However, this time things CHANGE on the way to "happily ever after," as the pigs wonder what life would be like if the wolf were not always at their door, the billy goats gruff decide they can't face another trip-trap over the troll's bridge, and Papa Bear has had ENOUGH of the meddlesome little Goldilocks!

Cinderella – Roles List

Who can resist this all-time favorite fairy tale, told with fun and flair? Our acting troupe takes over the stage area, playing rhyming Narrators, singing Villagers, friendly Animals, charming Royalty, energetic Messengers, the haughty Stepmother and Stepsisters, the irresistible Fairy Godmother, and lovely Cinderella. Of course, once the charming Prince discovers the proper owner of that famous sparkling slipper, everyone lives happily ever after!

 Each week, students learn to express themselves creatively through fun theatrical games, develop characters through dance and movement, strengthen vocals, review stage directions, and continue building theatre terminology. Join us for this classic retelling of a favorite fairy tale!

The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood Roles List

It sure is hard to be humble when you're a swashbuckling, egocentric super-hero. But our gallant guy-in-green tries his best as he swaggers through The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, a frantically funny, Monty Pythonesque retelling of the classic.

This time around, the legendary legend, in his never-ending quest to aid the needy, encounters a lovely damsel-in-distress (oddly obsessed with skin conditions); an ever-scheming sheriff who would rather bowl a strike than hit a bull's-eye; a gold-hoarding, bad-guy monarch wannabe; and a good-natured "Town's Guy" who manages to make his way into every scene, whether he belongs there or not. Combine them with an expandable band of spoon-wielding Merry Men whose collective IQs equal six, and you've got an irreverent jaunt through Sherwood Forest you won't soon forget!

If you can chassé, padebouree, and pirouette your way across the floor and you frequently Shuffle off to Buffalo with Shirley Temple and Maxie Ford, then you're probably ready for what's NEXT! With proper technique, strength building, and increased flexibility as the central focus of the class, intermediate and advanced dancers will begin to incorporate movement into choreography and elevate the speed of execution, musicality, and difficulty of the steps already in their repertoire.

Triple Threat is a multi-year, multi-level program that develops the three essential performance competencies required in musical theatre: dancing, singing, and acting. Incorporating challenging choreography and vocals from popular and classic Broadway musicals, taught at a pace and performance level appropriate to each student’s level, students learn core skills such as acting and characterization, vocal technique and styles, dance steps and choreography, and how to be expressive as an actor while also singing and dancing.

Triple Threat is different every semester and many teens enroll throughout middle and high school. Whether students are at beginning, intermediate, or advanced levels of experience, this energetic and active class teaches and challenges them towards the next level, developing their ability to engage the whole body, building their confidence for auditions and shows, and growing their knowledge of a wide variety of musical theatre styles and repertoire. Those who put in the time and effort required to excel find that they become much more skilled and competent performers in general, all while having fun in a safe and supportive environment.

Past classes have learned numbers from musicals such as Hamilton, 42nd Street, Hairspray, Matilda, Singin’ in the Rain, Wicked, A Chorus Line, Matilda, Fiddler on the Roof, James and the Giant Peach, Once on This Island, The Music Man, Hairspray, High School Musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and more. Selections depend on enrollment numbers in each level, so sign up early! The semester will end in a free fully-staged performance for friends and family. 

There are five levels of Triple Threat in our program. Levels correspond to a combination of factors: a student’s age/grade, performing arts experience level, and number of semesters in our Triple Threat program:

• Level One (ages 12-14): All middle school students

• Level Two (ages 14-16): All high school freshman and high school sophomores who are new to our Triple Threat program.

• Level Three (ages 15+): High school sophomores who have completed two semesters of Level 2, all high school juniors, and high school seniors who are new to our program.

• Level Four (ages 16+): High school juniors and seniors who have completed two semesters of Level 3.

• Level Five (ages 16+): High school seniors who have completed two semesters of Level 4.

Bremen Town Jam Preview

Join a pair of modern-day Brothers Grimm and a delightful re-telling of their famous take on the classic tale, the Bremen Town Musicians. In this musical version, you will meet the same lovable characters from the original story, a Donkey named Chocolate and his friends the hound, cat and rooster as they make their way to Bremen Town to join other musicians in an unforgettable JAM session. Along the way, they'll meet a ridiculous room of rascally robbers who need to be taught a lesson. In the end, all will learn the value of sticking together with your friends and ultimately making beautiful music together.

Students in this musical will learn about all aspects of putting together a show, including acting, movement, stage presence, dance, and singing. The semester will end in a fully-staged performance for friends and family!

Pied Piper – Roles List

Those rats are taking over Hamelin, and nobody, including the greedy mayor, knows what to do.  Even Duchess Dingaling is at her wit’s end.  Rattytatty, the pest control officer, admits defeat.  Just when things can’t get any worse, who should turn up but an odd young gentleman who calls himself the Pied Piper? 

The town agrees to pay a fee for the Pied Piper to get rid of the pests, so he disposes of the cheese nibblers, as promised.  However, the townsfolk now claim they are too poor to pay!  In retaliation, the Pied Piper leads the children from the town and hides them within a magic mountain.  The townsfolk quickly realize the error of their ways and search for the mysterious musician.  T

Each week, students learn to express themselves creatively through fun theatrical games, develop characters through dance and movement, strengthen vocals, review stage directions, and continue building theatre terminology. Join us for this retelling of this classic tale!

What musical theatre production isn’t made spectacular with the performance of a truly great tap dance number? With this in mind, tap will be taught to our homeschool students with the aim of developing better rhythm, style, and sound, with an emphasis on developing proper tap technique and producing clear tap sounds.

With movement also at the heart of musical theatre dance, jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality, and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Exercises will focus on increased range of motion in the feet and ankles, balance, control, and speed of movement. And while the students are working their bodies, they will be getting exercise and having fun!

Moriarty’s Daughters Roles List

Like to sing, but wish you knew more? Engaging in a voice skills workshop is a great opportunity for you to gain some basic knowledge and skills in a pressure-free setting, improving your singing voice and developing more confidence to sing with and in front of others.  In this class, you will be taught the fundamentals of healthy vocal production, such as proper posture, breathing, relaxation, tone production, diction, and expression. Students will also learn about basic vocal anatomy, vocal registers, and vocal health, and leave knowing how to practice more effectively when learning a piece of music and preparing for an audition or performance.

You do not need to read music or have any experience to take part in this workshop, just an interest in singing and a willingness to try. All are welcome!

Simple, right? Yet, even experienced actors and musicians often struggle to bring their singing and acting skill sets together. It is tricky! Even the most beautiful voices can fail to convey meaning or character or setting successfully - and even the most compelling actors can get so focused on the music when they sing that their acting skills are not properly utilized.

if this is something you would like to work on, this workshop is for you! In two sessions, discover how to learn your song in a way that the puts the text and the meaning of the words first, without sacrificing vocal technique. Learn how to prepare an audition song in a way that makes memorization easy and movement/characterization natural. Discuss strategies and solutions for dealing with pre-audition room song jitters (which have an annoying tendency to diminish even the best prepared performances). End the workshop with a 15-20 minute private coaching with the instructor on your next audition song!

Dance Moms (and Dads too!) Escape for some much deserved "me" time and kick up your heels as we bend, stretch, plie and pirouette in this fun dance class for the "over 18" crowd.

Each class will include proper stretching technique to increase range of motion and flexibility while preventing injury, ballet barre work for improved strength and posture, across the floor to learn jazz dance progressions, and a short combination to bring it all together and exercise those learning and memory skills. If you'd like to look and feel sassy, elegant or graceful, get in some exercise, and spend time with your theatre friends, this class is for you!

Is your movement restricted by muscle tension or joint pain? Would you like to relieve the pain, increase mobility, and build the strength to support it? This two part workshop will teach you the MUNZ FLOOR Method (Spinal Decompression, Psoas Release and Building Elasticity from Within) and Functional Fitness to support your daily activity.

In this workshop, you will be equipped with a series of slow, gentle, controlled movements that allow you to relax and stretch all the fascia (connective tissue surrounding all your organs, muscles, ligaments and tendons) in your body. This will activate your nervous system, reduce stress, help you feel more relaxed, and even improve the quality of your sleep. MUNZ is about moving in a way that is safe, supported and smart. You will feel less pain or stiffness, will improve your posture and balance, help avoid injuries, and be able to move more freely and with ease. Through the functional fitness portion of the class, you will learn simple, targeted isolation exercises for mobilization and improved stability of the core, hips, knees and ankles.  This class is intended for adults and high school age students.
